2020 Census Infomration

2020 US Census

The 2020 Census has arrived and seeks to have every person counted. Census counts are vital to ensure our community receives its fair share of the $675 billion in federal funding for schools, roads, transit, and other important community infrastructure and services. Participating in the census is easy and secure with the new online option that takes about 10 minutes and can be completed on a computer or cell phone. Don’t worry if you do not have access to a computer or internet access as you can contact the census call center and take the census over the phone or have the option of a mailed questionnaire.

Due to the new online process, the census is mailing postcards to residents with a PIN number. Just go to the website https://2020census.gov, enter your PIN and answer the questions – then you are done.

The census call center can be reached at 844-330-2020 and is open every day from 6am to 1am Central Standard Time. Additional languages are supported and the phone numbers for all languages can be viewed at https://2020census.gov/en/ways-to-respond/responding-by-phone.html.

Just a reminder on security as the Census Bureau or its representatives will never ask you for:

  • Your full Social Security number.
  • Your bank account or credit card numbers.
  • Anything on behalf of a political party.
  • Money or donations.

A few tips on avoiding frauds and scams can be found at https://2020census.gov/en/avoiding-fraud.html.

The deadline for submitting your information to the Census Bureau is July 30.
